The first Great Deception occurred in the garden of Eden when man added to the word of God (tradition) and when the word of God was questioned. The first religious act occurred in the garden of Eden when man tried to hide and cover his own sin with religious fig leaves. No blood was shed, nothing died, the covering was inadequate, they still had shame, and they blamed each other (Genesis 3:1-14)

Thousands of years later many people are still deceived by the exact same mistakes: adding to the word of God with man-made church traditions and questioning the Bible. Just like Adam and Eve, many people are hiding from God with religious fig leaves but have no relationship with the Lord or personal application of the blood of Jesus Christ to their own sin.

The Pharisees took the word of God and added so many man-made traditions and religious requirements that they missed God when He was standing right in front of them. Today a lot of what is labeled Christianity has made the exact same mistake. People are standing right in front of Jesus and yet they do not receive Him.
