Fallen
Jesus said “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31–32
My mind is fallen.
My heart is fallen.
My body is fallen.
My world is fallen.
Sometimes the bad news is the good news. In a world riddled with problems, pain, and suffering that eventually ends in death knowing that it is not supposed to be this way changes everything. Knowing that it isn’t going to stay this way because of what God did on the cross is even more amazing and one of the most liberating Christian truths a person can discover. Knowing that you are saved and have eternal life is wonderful, but waiting for its fulfillment through the lens of a fallen world and existence heightens the expectation and provides a daily paradigm that comforts the soul. It also makes one more grateful to Jesus for what He did at Calvary. The more fallen our world is the greater the sin debt and price that Christ had to pay for us. The more I realize just how sinful and fallen I really am the more I am amazed of what Jesus did for me and His love that enabled Him to do it. I am fallen but not for long because Christ is risen!
